1. Lake Nakuru

Lake Nakuru is home to an abundance of flamingos and eagles. I also spotted the very rare black and white rhinos that have been introduced to the area. Well worth a visit.

3. The Masai Mara

The Maasai Mara National Reserve is a large game reserve. It's part of the famous Serengeti. The Masai tribe originate from here. It is here you can spot the big 5 animals! I would recommend you stay at the Samburu Mara Sopa Lodges. They have an amazing spread of food and you get welcomed by a flute player and hot towels are you arrive. You can also spot leopards while you have your dinner and the Masai tribe visit daily.

4. Tree Tops Lodge

The Treetops Hotel opened up in the 1930's, elevated on stilts above the watering hole for the animals below. This hotel overlooks Mount Kenya, offering stunning views of the animals and the mountain.

Princess Elizabeth Windsor visited this lodge and it was here she heard the sad news of the death of her father and consequently her succession to the throne as queen of England.
