1. Brussels

It is only a 15 minute walk from the station to the main square where most things are. They have nice cathedrals, chocolate shops and restaurants. The surrounding areas are not very nice. back streets and main roads near the station look very run down and dirty.

2. Walking tour

You can join two-hour walking tours around Bruges to see all the main sights. I think its easier to just walk about yourself personally as the place is so small.

3. Bruges by boat

This is a 30 minute overpriced boat tour on the canals.

Open - every day, from 10am - 6pm

Price - €7,60, Brugge City Card (1.3-15.11) : free

4. Brewery De Halve Maan

'Brugse Zot' is a traditional brewery dating back to 1546. Their beer is made of malt, hops and yeast. You will learn the full process and you get a free beer included in the price.

Open - Mon-Fri:11am - 4pm, Sa: 11am - 5 pm, Su: 11 am - 4pm, Guided visits every hour.

Prices - Brewery visit : 6,50 euro. (1 beer included), Brugge City Card:free

5. Choco-Story

A small 3 story house with various artefacts in glass boxes telling you the story of where chocolate came from. It's quite small and you can go round in about 30minutes. The best part is at the end where you see them demonstrating the chocolate making process and give you a free sample!

Open - daily 10am & 5pm Closed: 1/1-13/1, 10-21/01, 24, 25 and 31/12.

6. Minewater

This park is a very picturesque park with canals running through it. The is a lake called Lake of Love where you can see swans and Begijnhof (Beguinage). Nice place to relax on a dry sunny day.
